Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles extends helping hand to orphanage

AIZAWL: Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), celebrated Christmas with the children of Bethel Orphanage, Lunglei.

The Battalion celebrated Christmas with 93 children of the orphanage. The Assam Rifles troops greeted the children by traditional method of cake cutting along with prayers followed by an elaborate Christmas feast for the children. Essential commodities and warm clothes were voluntarily donated by soldiers of the Battalion and these were distributed amongst children who were filled with gratitude. A total of 93 children were part of the Christmas celebrations. Caretaker and Priest of the orphanage church thanked Assam Rifles for their generous commitment, stated a press release.
